Le pont férié du 1er mai n'a pas découragé les organisateurs du festival d'ajouter quelques films supplémentaires en sélection officielle par rapport à la liste initiale annoncée lors de la conférence de presse du 19 avril. Hors compétition : en séance spéciale, le documentaire sur l'environnement, "Trash" de Candida Brady, en séance de minuit, le biopic musical "Sapphires" de Wayne Blair et le film d'horreur "Maniac" de Franck Khalfoun, remake du film éponyme de 1980. En compétition UCR : "Djeca" de Aida Bejic (Bosnie) , "Gimme the loot" de Adam Leon, premier film americain, et "Renoir" de Gilles Bourdos (film de clôture).
PS. les films qui sortiront en France en salles en même temps qu'au festival de Cannes :
"Moonrise kingdom" de Wes Anderson le 16 mai, "De Rouille et d'os" de Jacques Audiard le 17 mai, "Sur la route" de Walter Salles le 23 mai, "Cosmopolis" de David Cronenberg le 25 mai.

The holiday May 1st did not discourage the Cannes festival organizers to add some additional movies in official selection with regard to the initial list announced on April 19th. Out of competition : "Trash " by Candida Brady, documentary about environment (special screening), "Sapphires", musical biopic by Wayne Blair, and "Maniac " by Franck Khalfoun, an horror movie, remake of the eponymic movie of 1980 (midnight screenings).
